Goals:

#1: Show it's Possible
Strength is something that I have fell in love with in my life. It kills me to see that people get discouraged because they have "bad leverages" or "bad genetics" because they see some social media influencer say so. The human body is the greatest feat of mechanics in the world, and with proper training it has very few limits. I will say that it takes a special person with good genetics to be a world champion, but that is how it is in every sport. Progress occurs no matter who you are and everyone's body is capable of producing strength. I intend to show people how to maximize the mechanics they are born with; furthermore, I will prove that anyone can achieve a national caliber. At the very least I will prove that you can surpass your wildest dreams in strength. I do just that every day in the gym in my own training.

#2: Instill Mentality
Mentality is the cornerstone of success. In a world where mental illness is on the rise, I would like to be a part of the solution. In my person struggle with mental illness, the discipline required to be a powerlifter was a game changer. Not only does hard work force you to become independent and learn how to push yourself past your limits, but the things you learn in the process will carry over into your everyday life. Every person I am able to instill this mindset in is another life I am able to help. I originally started in college as a pre-med student because I wanted to help people which is my overarching passion. I changed my path when I realized I could pursue my passion in strength training and also help people in other aspects of their lives. Mentality is absolutely everything, and my coaching allows me to push strength while also teaching skills that will help my athletes for their entire lives.

#3: Push Powerlifting
Powerlifting is so close to being a more mainstream sport, but it needs help in the northern part of the nation. My goal is to open a gym that can bring more attention to the sport. The issue with the Midwest is that there is a lack of powerlifting gyms and people willing to host meets. As a coach and gym owner I will have the platform to not only create some of the strongest lifters in the nation, but also hold meets where athletes come put their strength on display. The stronger the Midwest gets, the more attention the sport will get, and the reach of powerlifting will expand further across the nation. It also doesn't hurt if I am able to coach someone to becoming a big name in the sport.
Beyond the business and coaching aspect of this, I love to conduct studies. I would love to continue doing so out of my future gym. I would like to publish studies that expand the current research on powerlifting specific strength. I believe the depth of understanding will bring more recognition to the sport as a lot of people still see powerlifters as big meatheads. If it can be shown how much thought goes into programming and biomechanical considerations  to achieve high levels of strength, then the sport may receive a better image and more respect. Not that research alone will do this, but a more complete understanding of powerlifters will foster stronger lifters, and what doesn't attract attention like a bar loaded up with weight. While I am talking about my goals in research, I would love to write a book on my programming experience and research findings one day. "The Biller Method" sounds good doesn't it! You have to manifest your dreams :)
